Best for
- Custom stamp businesses
- Print shops adding short-run stamps
- Buyers comparing compact and production CO₂ systems
Watch for
- Generic rubber is not material identification
- Relief engraving produces debris and odor
- Mirrored artwork and shoulder geometry affect usable stamps

Best starting point: compact documented CO₂
A compact enclosed CO₂ system is the practical research path for small stamp formats when its current documentation supports engraving the exact laser-rubber product. Compare usable bed area, focus range, extraction route, software and service—not only source watts.
Monport's current Reno45 Pro record includes rubber among documented material families, making it a research candidate rather than a blanket recommendation. Preserve the exact stock and model evidence.
When a larger CO₂ bed earns its place
P2S, Polar Lite and P3 become relevant when measured sheet nesting, batch handling or other documented CO₂ products use their larger envelopes. Model finished stamps per sheet and complete cycle time before paying for unused area.
A larger chassis also changes route, bench, cooling, exhaust and electrical planning. Use an installed-cost comparison.
The material gate comes first
Require the supplier product identifier, current SDS/TDS, explicit laser-processing support, thickness and any backing or adhesive construction. Trotec describes laser-rubber stamp production; that does not prove unlabeled rubber or foam is equivalent.
PVC, chlorine-containing vinyl and unknown stamp compounds are blocked or not verified. Do not use a flame, odor or wire test to identify stock.
Qualify the stamp—not a universal setting
Build mirrored artwork, define relief depth and shoulder geometry, and inspect fine text, closed counters, edge support and ink transfer on the exact rubber. Manufacturer guidance can seed a controlled test record, but settings do not transfer between models, lenses or formulations.
Include engraving, cleaning, mounting, handle assembly, test impressions and rework in cycle time. Beam speed alone is not stamps per hour.
Do not copy universal settings. Use the exact machine and laser-rubber supplier documentation, supervision, fire controls and qualified extraction.
Who should choose neither
Choose neither when the material is generically labeled rubber, foam or vinyl; when backing or adhesive chemistry is unknown; when the machine has no documented fit; or when debris and emissions lack a defensible control path.
Outsource stamp plates until demand, material supply and the complete controlled workflow are proven. Do not model guaranteed sales or profit.
