Installed-accessory cost guide

Laser rotary attachment cost: roller, chuck and installed workflow

A rotary price is not a cylindrical-production budget. Roller or chuck architecture, diameter range, weight, taper, riser, cable, focus clearance, software setup and fixtures determine whether the accessory works.

Best for

  • Tumbler and glassware businesses
  • Ring and jewelry engravers
  • Buyers comparing bundled and separate rotaries

Watch for

  • Compatibility can depend on a cable or adapter
  • A riser changes enclosure and workspace
  • Taper and handles can defeat nominal diameter fit

Rotary cost includes the exact supported attachment, cable, riser, fixture, software and production qualification—not only the accessory price.

Use dated price anchors

Boss Laser's official US rotary catalog showed current products from a USD $340 short roller through USD $1,439 PiBurn chuck configurations when verified 8 Sep 2026. xTool's Australian RA2 Pro page showed AUD $439. These illustrate configuration and regional spread; they are not a universal market range.

Save currency, tax context, SKU, phase or motor variant, included cable, availability and verification date. Recheck the exact cart before ordering.

Choose roller or chuck from the object

Rollers depend on friction and stable cylindrical contact; chucks can constrain rings, tapered or irregular pieces but add jaws, clearance and setup considerations. Sphere and ring modes require their own supported geometry.

Measure minimum and maximum diameter, length, weight, taper, handle projection, center height and the engraving zone. Do not infer fit from a product photo.

Confirm the complete compatibility chain

Match the rotary SKU to the exact machine generation, controller, cable, firmware and software workflow. xTool documents different RA2 modes and current RA3 support for P2/P2S; compatibility language can change by machine family.

Require the current installation guide before purchase. Do not splice wiring, bypass interlocks or improvise an unsupported adapter.

Add clearance, riser and fixtures

Price the required riser or base, enclosure changes, focus height, leveling aids, tailstock, jaws, mandrels, protective fixture surfaces and material-specific controls. Confirm that normal operation preserves the documented system classification.

Add setup, calibration, test blanks, operator training, cleaning and changeover time. A rotary can expand the catalog while reducing throughput through longer handling.

Who should delay or outsource

Delay when the object falls outside documented diameter, weight or clearance; the required cable or adapter is unclear; pass-through or lid operation changes controls; or product volume cannot justify qualification.

Outsource difficult one-off objects rather than forcing a generic rotary. Never assume a nominally compatible attachment is safe or supported across brands.
