Best path for wood and clear acrylic
Trotec documents wood processing for Christmas decorations and CO2 processing of PMMA acrylic. An enclosed CO2 system is the primary research path when identified wood and verified clear PMMA dominate the catalog. This material-level guidance does not establish another manufacturer's exact-model capability.
Confirm the largest sheet, ornament, hanging hole, nested layout and edge-finish acceptance. Diode marketing around acrylic does not establish clear-PMMA cutting.
Split metal, glass and layered products
Coated or anodized metal ornaments can use a documented coating-removal workflow; bare metal needs a qualified fiber or MOPA path. Glass requires its own stress, geometry and breakage process.
Layered ornaments must identify every adhesive, film, laminate, paint, glitter, backing and protective sheet. Unknown vinyl or plastic does not enter the laser.
Design the name and order workflow
Lock spelling, date, font, size, orientation and proof approval before production. Preserve a one-to-one link between order, file, blank and finished item; isolate reruns rather than mixing them into accepted batches.
A camera or conveyor can reduce handling in a qualified workflow, but vendor automation claims are not error-rate evidence.
Model the seasonal capacity window
Use accepted finished ornaments per hour after artwork, proofing, nesting, loading, cutting or engraving, cleaning, assembly, inspection and packing. Apply scrap, rework and downtime to the available production window.
Run base, constrained and downside scenarios. A calculator can test capacity and payback; it cannot promise Q4 orders or profit.
Who should choose neither
Choose neither when seasonal demand is the only justification, the catalog depends on unidentified layers, continuous supervision and fire controls are absent, or delivery dates require an unproven production rate.
Outsourcing peak cutting or narrowing the catalog can be safer than buying a machine for one forecast.
Ornament and material sources were rechecked 10 Sep 2026. This is a capacity-planning guide, not a demand or earnings forecast.
