Best for paper-led invitation suites
An enclosed CO₂ machine with a bed that fits the source sheet is the primary research path for documented paper and cardstock cutting. Selected enclosed diode systems can enter when the exact stock and detail are supported and clear acrylic is not required.
Compare hold-down, registration, camera workflow, usable area, exhaust and supported software on representative printed and unprinted sheets.
Best for clear-acrylic invitations
A documented CO₂ workflow is the primary route for clear PMMA cutting and engraving. P2S, Polar Lite, Reno65 Pro Vision and P3 represent different area and installation tiers; the smallest machine must still fit the complete sheet and fixture.
Unknown plastic, protective film, paint, ink and adhesive remain separate composition decisions.
Qualify print and cut registration
Use representative artwork with fine internal details, printed boundaries and the smallest accepted margins. Test camera or registration-mark recognition, sheet distortion, cut order, front/back orientation and repeatability across the full bed.
Epilog and Trotec publish wedding-invitation examples, but their project settings and hardware do not transfer automatically to another machine or paper.
Model the finished invitation set
Capacity includes client proofing, personalization data, print/vendor lead time, sheet staging, laser work, weeding, cleaning, assembly, envelopes, inspection, packaging and rework. Count completed sets, not pieces cut per minute.
Run scenarios by actual order quantity and deadline without assuming uninterrupted utilization or guaranteed wedding demand.
Who should choose neither
Choose neither when any foil, laminate, plastic, ink, adhesive or veneer is unidentified; fire or fume controls are unresolved; registration cannot hold the accepted tolerance; or assembly labor makes the quoted product unworkable.
Outsource specialist printing or unsupported layers while keeping the in-house workflow narrow and documented.
Invitation sources were rechecked 8 Sep 2026. Product examples establish possible workflows—not hands-on testing, universal settings or business-success claims.
