Start with an exact compatibility record
Record the machine, source wavelength and power, head and mount, supported lens part number, field, focal geometry, protective configuration and software calibration procedure. Similar-looking M52 lenses are not interchangeable proof.
ComMarker's current lens page exposes machine, field and glass variants with materially different prices. Use the selected compatible variant, not the lowest search-result price.
A verified price example—not a universal lens price
ComMarker's separate SuperVision 70 mm UV field-lens page displayed USD $299 on 10 Sep 2026 and explicitly named Omni X and Omni XE compatibility. This is a product-price observation, not an installed quote; tax, shipping, region and current availability require confirmation.
The general field-lens listing has separate B6 / B6 MOPA, B4, Omni 1 and Titan styles. Its Omni 1 option does not establish Omni X compatibility. Use the dedicated UV listing for that research path; a thread or brand match is insufficient.

Separate purchase price from installed cost
Budget the lens, shipping, tax, protective window where applicable, approved installation labor, calibration target or fixture, software setup, test stock, inspection time and production downtime.
Label the lens price as verified on the quote date. Label labor, downtime and scrap as user inputs or assumptions.
Treat field size as a process tradeoff
A larger nominal field may fit a larger part or more fixtures, but it can alter focal distance, spot behavior and delivered energy density. A smaller field can support finer work but may reduce batch layout.
Require the manufacturer-supported configuration and a matched sample at the required edges of the usable field. Do not publish or borrow universal settings.
Include calibration and changeover
Record lens installation, focus reference, field correction, camera or red-light alignment, edge verification and restoration of the previous configuration. A multi-lens shop needs versioned parameter and fixture records.
Changing a lens does not waive enclosure, access, reflection, fume or particulate controls. Follow the exact manual and manufacturer procedure.
When not to buy another lens
Do not buy when compatibility is inferred only from a thread or wavelength label, the required edge quality has not been sampled, the larger field still cannot fit the part safely, or changeover cost exceeds the workflow value.
A different machine, indexed fixture or outsourced large-format job may be a better system decision.
